Job Description – Contract Virtual Events Coordinator

Join our game-changing team as an experienced Contract Virtual Event Coordinator to help us manage virtual events on behalf of our food and nutrition industry clients. The ideal candidate is passionate, creative, and detail-oriented, and dedicated to providing superb client service at every turn. This role requires expertise in digital conference and event planning and working knowledge of multiple technology platforms. The best fit for our company is someone who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can manage the daily details while simultaneously maintaining big-picture thinking. This position is estimated to be an average of 20-35 hours per week, with fluctuation based on event deadlines. Candidate must be eligible to work in the US.

What you will be doing

  • Manage all aspects of virtual event planning, before during and after event, meeting strict deadlines and operating within budget constraints
  • Nurture and build relationships with vendors and other industry contacts to develop and execute creative and logistical aspects of all events
  • Stay current, and often ahead of the curve, on event planning, design, and production trends, proactively identifying opportunities and solving operational challenges
  • Train speakers for upcoming events on interfacing with event technology and optimizing presentation style for remote events
  • Coordinate with internal staff, clients, vendors, and others to determine and fulfill needs for events and serve as virtual event liaison with clients and client teams
  • Research resources and lead pre-event meetings when necessary to help staff make decisions about event design and features
  • Video and audio editing experience preferred
  • Troubleshoot and handle any issues that arise during live events

The experience that will contribute to your success

  • 4+ year of proven success as an event planner or coordinator required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in maintaining and building enriching business relationships
  • Proven technical and logistical expertise in the management, planning and execution of live virtual events
  • Proficiency in multiple virtual event platforms, including Zoom
  • Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Foundation in customer service basics: a reassuring, unflappable attitude will take you far!
  • Ability to handle pressure and make split-second decisions
  • Experience in the tech/software industry and/or marketing/public relations preferred
  • Dedicated, professional remote working environment with strong and reliable internet connectivity
