EAT WELL GLOBAL JOINS CORPORATE LEADERS IN SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY WITH RECENT B CORPORATION® CERTIFICATION
Women-Owned, Nutrition Communication Agency Becomes a B CorpTM, Complementing WBENC Certification
BROOKLYN, N.Y., December 10, 2018 – Eat Well Global, a nutrition communication agency, co-headquartered in Brooklyn and Amsterdam, is proud to announce their recent B CorpTM certification, joining the ranks of pioneers in corporate social responsibility. Through this accreditation, Eat Well Global publicly commits to upholding a purpose-driven business and supporting a global economy that benefits all.
Certified B Corporations® include businesses that voluntarily meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability, ultimately balancing profit and purpose. B CorpsTM become certified through a thoroughly vetted process by B Lab® and join an elite group of companies using business as a force for good. Through the certification process, B CorpsTM are evaluated for the company’s overall impact on its community, employees, customers and the environment. Additionally, B CorpTM certification ensures each company is committed to positive stakeholder impact for the long-term through transparency and continued verification.
“As Eat Well Global grew, I realized we had an opportunity to define our company’s goals beyond providing great service and create a business rooted in deeper values”, said Erin Boyd Kappelhof, MS, MPH, RDN, Managing Partner at Eat Well Global. “For me, this meant a company that offered autonomy and flexibility, and created positive impact beyond profits, all of which I am proud are part of Eat Well Global’s foundation”, said Kappelhof. “The B Impact Assessment helped us crystalize these values, and as we humbly join this group of business leaders, such as Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s and many of Danone’s subsidiaries, I look forward to shaping and strengthening our commitments in the months and years to come.”
In addition to the recent B CorpTM certification, Eat Well Global has also been a long-time leader in female entrepreneurship. As a WBENC-certified business, the nutrition communication agency is proud to be a women-owned and operated business, with employees spanning the globe.
WBENC certification verifies that a business is at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women. To achieve WBENC status, businesses must participate in a rigorous certification process, including formal documentation and site visits.
“Owning a women-led business is close to my heart and runs deep in my family, as my mother created her own real estate company in the early 1980s”, said Julie Meyer, RDN, Founding Partner at Eat Well Global. “After several years working at a prestigious PR agency – routinely eating dinner at my desk and being denied raises by a male boss – followed by starting my own family, I decided to make my own path”, Meyer said. “Now, seven years after starting Eat Well Global, I am so proud we have created a company that uplifts women, allowing for both career advancement and lifestyle flexibility.”
Eat Well Global is a highly specialized, global strategic consulting firm, focused on food, nutrition, and health. The agency partners with clients to navigate food and nutrition communication needs through expert-led strategies from Eat Well Global’s team of registered dietitians, researchers and global health specialists.
